Accidental / Intentional - Barcelona 2025
A beautiful thing happened during the show. Someone came up to me and showed me an image they just snapped on their phone in front of the gallery of a bunch of wires in circles. They said, look I can make a Douglas photograph too. I laughed and said that’s amazing.
It’s amazing because, that is the art. It’s not the photographs, the sculpture or the videos. It’s an attempt to change perceptions of reality. To think differently. To walk down the same street you always do and see shapes you’ve never seen. It’s an attempt to show that beauty and creation can still grow and reveal itself.
It’s an attempt to be open to what the world is showing you. It’s an attempt to listen, and in return it might just show you some of your own work and thoughts reinterpreted.
For years I’ve snapped photos of objects, colors, shapes, anything that stopped me dead in my tracks. Every left or right turn is part of the project. Collecting the accidental sculptures and paintings left by the universe for someone to notice.
Or it’s just pictures of trash…

Accidental / Intentional
The world is crumbling, yet shapes still stop me cold.
There is beauty.
Not the kind that’s planned, but the kind that’s left behind.
Accidental, almost perfectly placed.
Proof something’s getting through the cracks.

Some selections I showcased. I’m grateful to be able to present these to an audience in this setting and be surrounded by some lovely humans as a result. Looking forward to sharing more of these as I go on top of all the other directions and mediums I want to explore.
